Fits: 1959/66 F350 with Single or Dual Rear Wheels. There is no DRW brake drum only listed in the truck parts catalog for these trucks. No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any (EDIT: ditto as of 8/15/2011). This drum has been very hard to find new or used for many years. Try: Job Lot (joblotauto.com) located in Queens NY. |
1966 F-350 Brake conversion.
Bill,
I just bought a '66 F-350 Dually and the drums are shot. As I've learned, the drums are not available. What is my best option for a transplant? Can I simply get a bolt on set-up from a newer model 350 Dually, or do I need to change out the whole rear end? Thanks, Adrian |
1953/66 F350's have unique 6 lug, 7.25" bolt circle wheels, so no other wheels or brake drums will work from any other year/series Ford truck.
Hemmings Motor News-Services Offered section. The are sources that take the drums, hard chrome them, then turn them down to 'standard.' Not cheap. Consider all the 2,500 vehicles that have been made in the US since 1897. Since most are out of business now, what are peeps to do if they own a Moreland, Fageol, Stewart, Diamond T and etc if they need brake drums? Hard chroming is the answer. |
I picked up a 1970's Dana 70 Dually, for $50.00 on Craigslist. Hopefully the breaks are good on it, and it will fit my truck...
