Cab floor question, 1987 vs. 1988+

I noticed something I hadn't before in my Parts truck CAB.

The cab is a 1987, and doesn't have a mold on the SIDE of the floor hump for a 4x4 shifter. I know that was the last year for the old style 4x4 shifter coming through right behind the transmission shifter on the removable floor hump.

Does anyone know for sure if a 1988 cab would have the molded floor on the side of the hump for a 4x4 shifter?

I know my '89 F150 2wd C6 does have that mold as I removed the vinyl floor last summer to pressure wash it.

Are you refering to the location in the floor where the removable flooring goes? Most 80 to 91 trucks had either the removable floor with manuals or solid floor in automatics.

The one cab I was going to use was a 87 which did not have the removeable floor as it was a automatic 2x4. It did have the stamping in it but not cut out. So I could air saw it out and use the removeable floor.

Now the removeable flooring are diffrent from the few I had, the 4x4 had provision for the xfer case leaver, the 2x4 did not. Not sure about any diffreneces between the years. But they all will fit in the flooring with no issues.

I do have a photo of the 87 cab, don't show much but you can see were the removeable floor would go.

I'm talking about the mold on the side for the 4x4 shifter.

My 2wd Auto 89 F150 with solid floor does have one.
