Would you mind posting up a pic of that somewhere? I was thinking of doing something with mine, mainly just getting big semi type mirrors, because when someone is in the passenger seat I always have to tell them to move so I can see. Its quite annoying and they do rattle out of view a lot too. Thanks.

I will, just as soon as I find my camera...

Did it fell apart on ya? I used to have one of those in my diesel to help out the A/C in the summer, but since I ditched the A/C altogether I no longer needed the bypass valve so in interest of reliability (less things to break) I pulled it out.

so what is this i hear about stepping up the timing from 9 to 12? Better gas mileage got my attention and I was wondering what motor this is done on. I just ordered a streetfire coil for a mustang for my truck and I'm waiting for its arrival. I put MSD cap and rotor and 8.5mm wires on it today but i'm thinking about swapping them for 9mm. we'll see.

I sanded and repainted my wiper arms and re glued the rear view mirror tab on the windshield

it can be applied to any engine really, I have the SEFI 302 in my car bumped from the factory 10 degrees BTDC up to 14 degrees, it seems to be making a bit more torque down low and gets slightly better fuel economy.

nothing.....but the day isn't over, yet

Fixed the seat position wire that was broken. Added stiffer wire, and it's like new again. Wife spent a few hours and about 4 cans of Spot Shot to clean the upholstery. Apparently the PO used to roll around in a grease pit before driving home at night.

CincyF250 11-29-2009 01:41 PM

Fixed the tailgate handle, and began on scrubbing out the interior.

SouthernBlues 11-29-2009 03:52 PM

Fixed my tailgate, handle was sticking so took it apart and lubed it up

Changed the oil in the 86 and put on a Powerstroke oil filter for 1 more qt capacity, changed the glow plugs, put the air intake tube back on, rotated the tires

FordGuy91 11-30-2009 05:36 PM

Did a complete cleaning on my truck, inside and out. Next weekend I need to put compound or wax on it.

BCHauler 11-30-2009 07:28 PM

Had the truck aligned at the shop after I installed the f350 coils in the front. No more \ /.

How much higher does it ride with the heavy springs?

I would agree that advancing the timing has an effect on gas mileage. I drive a gas guzzler 351w with big tires, and I have my timing currently at 13* and got 12mpg mostly highway turning 2500rpm most of the time and 2000rpm for those few non-highway kilometers. That is actually not being the nicest on the throttle, believe it or not. I don't lol but my math proves it so...

Before that my timing was at 8*, not only did I have no power but I was getting 10mpg. For a while I had it at 15* running off regular gas, and when I put it back to 13* I noticed a reduction in power and my gas gauge drops slightly faster, even when driving at a constant (more fuel efficient, I might add) 2000rpm.

Other than that I added coolant, cause she boiled over good and lost a lot the other night. I also plugged in my block heater and put a thing that turns the power on to it remotely so I can turn it on right when I get up without having to go to the cold outside to plug it in. It's snowing so it be that time.
