And the Cadets can't get off-campus to just BUY some? Colorado Springs has supermarkets!

Oh, that would be less-reliant on gooberment, wouldn't it?

What is this world coming to??????

Since the goobermint is off duty, the academy should be off duty too. Furlough everybody!

As I read that, my head automatically put it to music. I was expecting "I like it, uh huh, uh huh".

Ok. So we're older than most of the puppies here. :'(

This was IRL, not a thread on the forum; for that matter I don't even know if it was a Ford, much less a truck . . .

I was wandering through my local Wal*Mart's automotive section the other day, looking for something or other, when another customer approached me and the following conversation occurred:

Hi . . . do you know anything about cars?

I know a little

Can you help me figure out what's wrong with mine? It just started smoking.

Oh? Did you hear any kind of noise or did it stop running right when it started smoking?

No; it just started smoking. It's coming from under the battery. I think it might be because I overfilled the windshield washer bottle.

Does the smoke smell oily? (Note: for some reason I was stuck on the idea of a rod going through the side of the block.)

Not really. Do you think it is because I overfilled the washer?

No. They're fine filled right up to the top.

I don't know what it could be. I just had my radiator hose replaced.

Did you replace the other one too?

There's two?!

Yeah; one to take hot water out of the engine and one to put cooler water back in. Did the smoke smell sweetish? (And I still don't know how I kept a straight face at this point.)

It did smell a little bit sweet.

It sounds like the other hose might have failed too. You'll want to replace it -- as well as the hoses to the heater.

That could be it. There was green leaking.

Yep, sounds like a hose let go. You should be okay once you replace it.

Okay, thanks. It's in the parking lot and I'm just waiting for my friend to come get me.

Well, good luck.

Soooo. I should stop flipping them off, and just fart at them from now on??

SC_Hoaty 11-01-2013 06:27 AM

Crap - I'm almost understanding what he is saying.

I guess his spell checker died from being overworked?

Encho 11-01-2013 08:58 AM

Really? you must be smarter than me... I just got that he's talking about his truck's "moter"...

P.S.: A little fun fact, once you reach 25,000 errors, the spell check is no longer able to underline them, it happened to me during the translation of a Manual.

Old93junk 11-01-2013 10:15 AM

Some of our manuals at work are written every other page in German.........
I think I could pull more info out of those than that guys "moter" post.

It think it says:

It is a fully stock motor. All original except the carburetor, and I'm just looking for something that will help it out better than the Piece of S__t one I have now, and it is already a daily driver. I have to hand it to Ford - they made these things pretty damn good back in the day.
