Pete what are are you going to have done to the exhaust manifolds ? Aaron you should also do the upgraded turbo oil lines, I also put on the head coolant lines to help flow the coolant through the heads. They are only $100 and can only be done with the heads off. You should also put on the fuel crossover line and do the 6.4 banjo bolts on the front of the heads. Any links? Is this also from ARP? Last I recall ARP just had a set of head studs. Thanks |
Now to fill you guys in on my job interview from last Thursday up in New Milford.
I was the first one to be interviewed, they said there would be a second round of interviews before the final selection is made. They seemed interested in hiring me, they had a few concerns though. One was that I would get bored there. Second was they were astonished at what my rate was down in Stamford. Seems they have hired an mean dog previously and are now concerned about the new candidate's Teflon coating. Its just over an hour's ride up there, so I'd stay in my truck while off-shift for the two - three days stints they run. |

Fuel Tank Repairs & Modifications.
What can & can't a shop legitimately do to my fuel tank?
The original fuel tank in my truck is aftermarket, I believe it was installed by the people who put the fiberglass body on the back of my van. That tank is powder coated, and now the coating is flaking off. I was thinking of taking the tank and having it sandblasted and then have a bed-liner polyurethane coating sprayed over it. My local welder only fabricates 'water' tanks because he can't DOT label them. But I wonder now that since this tank already has a DOT plate on it, to ask a shop to cut the tank apart and make it larger before having it coated. Of course if I ever cross the boarder with my van, Customs might want a closer look at that. I also wanted to weld in a drain bung in the event I too get a watered down load of fuel. |
:-wink Hello Fern

I'm sure DOT approval goes byebye as soon as you start cutting and welding on that thing. I say sand it and spray ot with a cam or 2 of under coat if you're that worried.
Andy, that storm had best turn to snow. |
Good afternoon CT.

College visits, fun fun. I can keep my truck and snowmobile here at Vermont tech. Good stuff
