Ditto. I have the tried and true Holley 4 barrel on my 72. Everytime I start it when the weather is damp, chilly or both it reminds me of why I like my EFI 300 so much.

replaced the starter solenoid and positive battery cable on the 88.

New front pads and rotors on my 96. Found out the brake hoses have dry rot cracks. Next week's project. The fun never ends.

If drinking and driving is Illegal then why do bars have parking lots?

New radius arm bushings today....:-X18

I REALLY need to invest in some nice air tools, a compressor, and a lift :)

On the '95: Flushed rad, new coolant, and a very abortive attempt at replacing the ECT sensor. Female threads are all messed up(old sensor left about 2/3 of a thread behind on its way out, so I can't get the new one in), but I got the old part back in, so at least the hole is still plugged, sort of. It just leaks slowly, and who doesn't like a slow leak? Checked coil primary/secondary resistances, and got lower values than I expected for both, as compared to the '87. Still trying to pin down that elusive hard warm start. Starts fine at ten below, half a crank and vroom. Starts pretty good when I just shut the key off and refire it right away, not as fast as the '87, but faster than my buddy's 351 in his '95. It's after I run it on a cold day, or when I first start it on a day that's too much above freezing that I have to crank and crank.

I got tired of the dull and fogged tail lights. It had some factory UV covering that was dulling and chipping off. Looked like 19 year old tail lights that have been out in the sun .

I took some 3M "clear coat safe" rubbing compound and two beers later, the lens on these 19 year old weathered tail lights look like new. You can see yourself in them from four feet away. They look wet. They really put out the light now!!! Less reason for the tailgaters to be back there in the night-two feet from the rear bumper.:-down Keeps them Honda cars from submarining under the rear bumper and getting stuck under there. I hate that when it happens!!!

Also redyed and reconditioned the leather steering wheel black and smooth again. It was turning gray and wasnt smooth as when new. Used Doc Bailey's Black Leather restorer. Dang good product! It has wax and black dye and I cant believe how well it looks and feels ! :)

I washed and waxed the paint . And used Eastwood's Chassis Black on the front and rear axles, trailer hitch, transfer case skid plate, cross members, and rear springs.Good paint-good narrow spray area for control and perfect sheen that replicates the original Ford chassis black.

One of the neighbors, that is a classic Ford enthusiast, almost drove on the sidewalk staring at it when driving by. Even nonautomotive people cant believe how good it looks!

Dang-the 19 year old girl looks like a new truck again! She is in her second youth. Without payments. :-X05

Found out someone did a hack job wiring the trailer connector up. Followed a loose wire from a circuit breaker under the hood to the same wire that was hanging down from the frame all the way back to the trailer connector. the crimp connector came loose. AND the rear plate lights were REALLY rigged. Three Splice/T connectors were used to make one wire to supply power to the plate lights. 0_o I'm gonna have to fix that soon.

The wiring for the rear end lighting on my flatbed when I got it was...

...never mind, I don't really have words to adequately describe it. FUBAR is a start, but doesn't do it justice.

Installed new pass door window motor, was waiting for nice weather to do it, so that was today, then the first wax job of the year.

jmgekeler 04-04-2010 07:23 PM

Put in new door hinge pins in the drivers side, new drive belt and new windshield.
