Started the Radiator Support replacement.

I have the new panel in my shed, and new polyurethane Energy Suspension mount bushings to go back on.

Lord have mercy on my poor soul this is gonna be a PITA

Welp, 3 hours in and Michelle's boob job is almost complete.

in the past 3 hours, I've completely removed the front of the truck, sans hood and fenders.

Old and crusty radiator support brace is out, and will be welding new washers in for the frame mounts. They were literally eaten away into "C" shapes...:-arrgh

New Poly Bushings and Radiator Support will be going in between now and tomorrow.:-jammin

So we'll see how the ol' girl rides with the front end all nice and tight!

^If I had to do this again, I would; But I would definantly have 2-30 packs of Coor's beer to supplement nerve pills.

Evicted the mice from the heater core housing!

I highly recommend a fifth of Buffalo Trace for projects like this. Smooth sippin', and at least for me, permasmile inducing.

There is a place around me called Gervic Paint. They can put any OEM color in a can, $20. You should see if any paint stores by you do this. If you cant find anyone, let me know, happy to get a can or two over to you.

The weather finallyis starting to get a little nicer and I had some free time so I installed a newset of KYB mono max shocks on the front, I also installed a kyb steering stabilizera few weeks ago. Hopefully next week I’llget the rear shocks done and work on rewiring the trailer lights and brake controller.<o:p></o>

you can't post a pic of a beautiful 460 like that and not put the specs up. LOL

Picked up a brake booster and master again but this time brand new hopefully this fixes the 89 F250s brake problem.

Hit 141K on the 02 yesterday still running like a top. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time out since winter so still a little smoke on start up that and the cold around here lately.

Thanks I'll look into it. If not I might just change the truck color. My title says blue and registration says green sine it's called reef blue.

Since the Energy Suspension instructions were very vague and generally as clear as mud...

I traced down a pic of how the original bushings/bolts went and subbed the new bushings for the old, and came up with this:

https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...25751604_n.jpg

https://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...94164854_n.jpg

On a F-Series, you need to mount everything in this sequence.

Nut-Square Spacer-Radiator Support-Big Flat Washer- V Shaped Shim- Upper Bushing-Frame Mount-Lower Bushing-Washer-Bolt.

*Note: The Upper and Lower bushings have an indention that allows the lower bushing to "Fit" up into the upper bushing.

Thanks, I wanted to do a lot more, but do to an extreme lack of funds, this is all I could get finished.

Redneckfordf2502002 03-27-2014 09:40 PM

had the local tire shop check out about doing an alignment on our 89 F250.
This is what he said:
We have two options do a D60 SAS or put a right D44HD traction beam on as it is slightly bent towards the cab. We told him D60 SAS isn't an option for this truck (it is only a work truck).
He told us also that the truck has a few slightly bent pieces for the front end but nothing that he couldn't fix other then the right traction beam.
He also said the right side is pushed back an 1 1/2" so we would have to fix all that before he could alighn it.
He did say that the camber is negative really bad and he hasn't seen one that bad since the time he restored his 80s dodge 1500. He also said we are towed in slightly but not to bad.
He told me this will stop the rubbing of the tires and also that all the ball joints and tie rods look almost brand new.

The good news is I have a right traction beam for a D44 HD laying in the yard. Bad news is I need time to do that now. Right when I thought I was close to done fixing the accident problems something pops right back up.
What confused the tire shop guy is that the truck goes down the road as straight as can be but it is obviously really messed up.

He told us get all that fixed and $60 to do an alignment. He is one of the only shops that will do alignments around here the other guy I wouldn't trust to put oil in my truck.
