I don't know what made the HPOP fail, but I have a suspect. I think the pump was 'starved' by a clogged inlet screen. Ford, in their wisdom, used a plastic screen that fairly easily clogs up with carbon junk from the oil.

If I were you, I would get it fixed pronto. You don't want this to fail when you are away from home. It will leave you stranded and at the mercy of whatever tow service and engine service you can get. I was 700 miles from home when mine failed.

hey was reading your hoop and saw you where on
any more ideas on why the hpop failed? i have a whine
that sound like its coming from under the turbo, got to
be the pump.. i had to change the ipr valve 3 months
ago ...just wondering Lee
