Good Morning Stu:
I hope this morning finds you well. I was wondering last night if you ever come across any f-2s or f-3s. I came upon an old post within this website of a cream colored F-3 and a green colored F-2. They were completely restored and beautiful. Do you know who owns these?
I also came upon a 1942 1 1/2 ton M-H on Sunday sitting in a barn in my hometown. It needs a great deal of work but it is all there including the snow plow and the original Galion dump body.

The only fully restored F-2/F-3s I know of, and that have had pics posted here, belong to a friend of mine. One is a bright yellow F-2, and the other a Glenmist Green F-3. The same friend has a number of other MHs.
There was a very beat up '51 F-3 for sale recently by a dealer in the MT area, as well as an equally beat up 48/49/50 listed by the same dealer. Both have now sold according to the dealer's web site, but it might not hurt to check on them. The last I saw on eBay is the one we discussed on the phone. Here are the listings and pics of the ones that were for sale in MT. Stu
1951 Ford F-3 Marmon-Herrington 4X4 Flatbed Truck For Sale
1948 Ford F-3 One Ton Marmon-Herrington 4X4 Wrecker Tow Truck For Sale
Unless the green F-2 you saw was this one. If so it started life as a Hemmings calendar truck, then with our friend Bob Jones' help now morph's itself into a MH.

Stu:
Thank you. The two that I saw were the one's that you mentioned. Would it be acceptable to divulge this gentlemans name here on this website, or is this unnacceptable. If you can't divulge his personal info here, can you send me an email? I would love the opportunity to chat with him if he would allow this.
The Green ford that morped into a MH is pretty cool. I wished it were this easy in real life.
I do have two cell phone pics of the 42 1.5 ton MH. If Stu would be kind enough I will try to send them to him to post.

I remember that conversation, and at the time it struck me that Herb was way too proud of it. Anymore, I think time has caught up with him. I told you I think that I tried to visit Herb once to see his MH and PW collection. I tracked him down to his cycle dealership but learned he was out of town. Never did meet him.
I called the dealer that had the '51 and '49 listed. I was hoping to get the axle numbers, etc, for Mark's registry. The guy was an absolute jerk and wouldn't even tell me where they were located so I could go look for myself. Claimed they were spread all over four states. I did find the '48 at a dealership in MT and got what numbers I could from it. It was hurt terribly, but did have all the MH drive train and linkage pieces that you'd play heck trying to replace. Stu

Another South Dakota person, with a Coleman F-6 at that! Welcome, and glad to have you hanging around. You and Thundersnow70 live where these trucks seem to be turning up. I think, too, that you'll find Mark to be a good friend.
There's a thread at the top of the menu that explains how to post pics. If you give up and can't figure it out, I spelled out my email address in post #40 and will post pics for you if you wish. Stu
