excessive turbo whine

Just started today. I have a D66 thats been in for about 1.5 years and today it started whineing alot more than normal. It almost sounds like a bearing has gone out, although the D66 doesn't have bearings. Anyone have any ideas?

It has bearings.
Journal bearings.
