When it does not start back up does the fuel pump relay click on for one second when you turn the key to on?
Can you hear the fuel pumps run for one second when you turn on the key when it does not start back up?

Is your vacuum line hooked up and wiring OK to the MAP sensor?
Sounds like it is dieing when the computer sees that the engine is warm.

MAP is new and the wires all seem to look fine I put a voltmeter on them and they check out. The vac line is fine also.

Have you checked the codes. About a week ago drove truck to my house todo some work on it. I went to start it after sitting in garage all night and no start, pulled codes and had 96, secondary fuel pump circuit. I unplugged relay(hard) and put in spare new one, truck fired right up. Cleaned old relay contacts and put back in, still running. Are you sure you can hear both pumps running with key on testing the way Subford suggested?

Since I do not have a front tank there is only one line that goes from one port to the other that connects both ports on the selector valve. Once I removed that line from the selector valve there was some gas in that line and coming out of one of the ports on the seletor valve. Should there be gas coming out of the front tank port when I have the rear selected? Would this tell me that the selector valve is faulty?

If you only have one tank why do you have a selector switch on the dash?
If you have only one tank then that is not a selector valve, it is a reservoir for the high pressure pump. It will only have two lines in and two out the other side.

I believe he indicated earlier that the PO removed the second tank before he purchased it...

I bypassed the selector valve and the truck seems to be in working order now (thank god). Let's just hope she stays that way! Subford the truck used to have 2 tanks but the PO removed the front tank to run the exhaust.
