Towing with cruise control

How many of you tow with your cruise control on. With my 6.0 i always did in hilly terain country. The truck seemed to hold its own going down hills. I was reading the owners manual of my new 2011 (top of pg. 56) and it says not to do so. Just wondering. We are leaving for Myrtle Beach from the Detroit area in early oct. Its a long way not to be using my cruise. I picked up this truck last week and absolutly love it. Thanks, Craig

I always have.. its one of the reasons I bought the SD.. the suburban couldn't hold the speed with Cruise on.

I tow with the speed control on; depending upon terrain of course.

Exactly. I don't use cruise in the hills. I get runs down hill and let speed bleed uphill. I try to keep from downshifting. This should be easier with the diesel. But with my gasser I ALWAYS got better MPG without using cruise in hilly areas.

This is because cruise control isn't intelligent. It can't anticipate a hill like your brain/foot can.

This truck is better, though.
Cruse holds speed great downhill but I'm not towing 14,000 pounds behind me either. Half that is a little easier to manage.
