I am most likely going for the 5.0. I like the 6.2 but I will be using the truck as a DD and like the projected better mpg. The 3.7 looks interesting and I would consider it but I think there are going to a lot of shortages and demand - meaning no need for dealers to deal. And I really think that Roush will adapt their supercharger used on the 5XR to the truck.

 

Got word late Friday, Truck will be built week of Dec 13th.. I got to say i am really looking forward to a basic truck. I had a 2005 with about same config and it was a great daily driver and handle some light duty towing and hauling pretty well.

 

Small Update!
5.0 F150 truck is supposed to come in next week at dealership. Kinda excited about it actually. Some of the Ford dealerships i have talked to say they are really impressed with the 5.0 in the F150.

Took a 150 mile round trip today in the new truck. Very smooth and comfortable speeds at 60-65 mph flat roads lie o meter had a 21.8 mpg reading.

Also here is a sneak peak at our Stage 1 Intake for the truck thats coming soon.

 

I've been averaging 19-20 mpg around town on a 4X4 Screw 5.0 & just got about 600 miles on it. Alot better than my '09 5.4. It will flat git it too!

I have just had a 5.0 fuel injection engine installed in my 1965 ford f 100. Along with the 5.0 they removed the gas tank from behind the seat and put a mustang tank under the back of the truck. The also installed disk brakes, power steering, and air condition. A Mustang radiator, condenser, transmission cooler, and heater coil was installed. We also had a rebuilt overdrive transmission installed. We would get the truck back this Friday. It has been a long worthwhile wait. The team that is performing the work is Mo’s Speed Shop in Dallas Ga. The next task is to get the truck painted red and white. It’s original color. They said that they have been driving the truck for several days and it is running great. They have a few more things that have to be completed before I can get it back.
