Need help.. 00 Excursion V10 shutting off

Hello, my V10 Excursion is giving me a little bit of a hard time. Once warm, it shuts off when I go from drive to reverse and when I have to brake hard.
I cleaned the mass air flow sensor and replaced the idle air valve behind the throttle body. Not sure what else I can do. Any and all help with this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you had it scanned for any codes yet?

I had it scanned a few months ago. Maybe I'll go get it scanned again just to be safe.

If you are sitting still and hit the brakes hard will it die then or bog? You may have a vacuum leak - any other symptoms? Has the check engine light come on at all?

The check engine light has never come on. It doesn't die out or bog when it's still, it's only when I'm driving and have to brake a little harder than usual or when I go from drive to reverse.

Do the brakes feel any differently? I'd check for vacuum leaks using something like an intake cleaner spray. With the engine running, lightly spray the cleaner on each vacuum hose connection and see if there are any changes to the RPMs.

The transmission symptoms are a little strange. I'd start with testing the battery and the alternator as low voltage can cause some really strange symptoms. Even if one or the other is new - have them tested as new parts can be weak or not be performing at 100%.

My 2001 V10 has a similar issue. Mine will shut off when shifting from park to reverse or from reverse to drive. It has only done it a handful of times and it is usually right after starting first thing in the morning and pulling out of the drive way. It starts up fine right after and then drives fine as well. No check engine lights either. Guess I'll wait until it causes more problems.

Alternator is good and so is the battery. I'm thinking its some sort of fuel issue cause of it shutting off when I brake hard. Any ideas on possible fuel issues that would cause the engine to shut off when I brake hard or when I go from drive to reverse?

This ^^^ sounds like an Idle Air Valve problem. Clean or replace and you will probably be good to go.

I'm leaning towards whatever it is that regulates fuel pressure between shifts from drive to reverse. Fuel pump/sending unit inside of fuel tank?? Any takers on this guess?
