Melling LPOP Install

AWESOME!!!!. It was 20* this morning. It fired up right away and died, but one more cycle of the GPs she fired and had almost instant oil pressure. I usually had about 2 or 3 seconds of revving to get the pressure up and if I didn't rev it, it would die and the HPOP would run dry. I would have to get underneath and drain a quart of oil (thank goodness for the Fumoto valve) and literally have to manually fill the HPOP reservoir. Time will tell if all is good, but so far, it looks great. Thanks again to the FTE Family!!!

Good to hear it went good. Mine will die when it's really cold on dino oil. I use the 5/40 rotella synthetic oil in the winter and it does not die. I think it may be an injector issue but not for sure.

Glad to hear it. Some guys can mask it for a while by running synthetic in the winter but its better to fix it instead of masking it.

About 25* this morning, no block heater plugged in, fired up instantly after GPs do their thing (which wasn't a problem) but now, instead of running a few seconds and dying because oil pressure never came up, it now has full oil pressure in less than 2 seconds and therefore just stays idling fine (no sputtering and dying like it used to). I think that was the right fix!
For those who might wonder if this is their problem, on my worst mornings it never would get pressure and therefore get in this cycle where it would never even fire after the first time of dying (no smoke, no injectors doing their thing, which means no hpop function). Hpop level had dropped over 2.5" from top, so this confirmed in my mind low flow from lpop. Anyway, it feels good to diagnose properly and fix the right thing!!
Thanks for the help, FTE!
