I don't know where to find parts.

I have a 1977 Ford F150 1/2 ton 460 big block. and it was my grandpa's. to my own understanding they take a battery that is longer then a regular truck battery. I absolutly have no clue where to find any parts that I need for the truck. Anyone think they can help?

The battery is a standard top post battery. Any local autoparts store will have them in stock. Take the old one in and they can help you identify it and test/charge it for you.

Both of you Welcome to FTE

And Brentech is correct, it should be a battery most auto parts stores, sears or Walmart should carry in stock.

Maybe your local auto parts has knowledgeable and helpful people working there, mine does.
I built a 460 from a bare block, not knowing much about the engine, and learned lots doing it.
Keep asking questions.
