Can anyone confirm the year?

Hello. I have an old Ford tailgate and would like to confirm if it’s a ‘64-72 or a 73-79. I can’t find a date stamped on it anywhere. Is there any other way to identify it? Thank you.

Looks like a 73-79 to me due to recessed/flush handle which is the more obvious indicator.

Sure looks familiar

Also, I believe the previous generation of tailgates had handles that pulled to the side as opposed to lifting up. I might be wrong though.

X3 its a 73-79 tailgate. And yes a (67-72) TG is FORD stamped differently and the opening handle is hinged from/on the R/H (as viewed) and opening/lifted from the L/H side. And yes you can put them on a 73-79 truck, but the body lines do not line up exactily. See the last pic.
67-72 TG

67-72 TG

73-79 TG

67-72 TG on a 79 4wd F150 Notice the misalignment of the body lines by the tail lights.
