Tom, Our car came with a EZ pass, this whole toll thing is crazy! Figured I'd mention that since we talked about it when mentioned i'd be over near this easy side of the country.
Dave, What are the plans for the F-550? (Please say "Old school ramp truck")
Well, I'm torn between that, and a regular flat bed. By regular flat bed, I mean about a 16-18 ft one with a big ol' hitch on the back to pull the camper. I want the bed as low as possible. The truck needs some work, the font axle made hard contact with the Frame. It was a Rail road Hy-rail truck. The way the front hy-rail wheels where mounted, they used the axle housing and the front of the leaf spring. The truck hit a broken rail. It forced the axle to bang into the engine crossmember and frame rail. The one rail it bent a bit, and the oil filter housing is broke, and oil pan is dented and leaking.

Yes! Aren't tolls great? You get to pay to drive on roads that are already paid for. We just used our EZ Pass this week on our way out to Columbus OH and back for our son's OSU orientation session. I'm sure that trip will be repeated several more times over the next few years.
Cool pictures Russ, nice shades.

So maybe something like a low profile Hodges style ramp/car hauler bed? That would be pretty cool.
I'm sure that you will have all of the damages sorted out in no time. Good luck with it and I hope we get to watch the build here!
I'll have to take some pictures, BUT, I welded a couple holes shut in the oil pan, and covered one on the oil cooler. Filled with oil and started up the "new" F550. I'll take it for a test drive sometime today and see how it goes.
I got locked out when my keypad decided to quit working. Got a ride just in time for it to start working again....some days I wanna run it up this machine...
A very rare sight on my way home from the track yesterday. This guy had spent the day at the drivers club and decided to take one of his many exotics out for a drive. No worries, still X-related as you see a nice my newly waxed hood.
Yes, it is a Pagani. Check out the awesome quad exhaust tips.

On the Flatbed comment, you are planning to stretch the frame if you go with that big of a bed right? Looks like, and its hard to tell from the angle. That it's a 60" CA chassis, leaving you with the only real option being a 9' flatbed (most beds actually measure 6" longer then advertised length)
going off my chart i use at work which gives you a 40/60% weight split, which i believe there is some laws on the subject.
Bed CA( cab to axle )
9' 60"
12' 84"
14' 108"
16' 120"
18' 132"
