Maybe Russ, I am just glad that I always have the EX ready to go. Traffic was construction, back to 80mph deltas running at 4 degree difference. Happy with that at this speed and load.
I got the head surface all cleaned up and I have all of the bolts started and one side all tightened up so far That is a TIIIGGHHHTTT Fit!!
Looks good. They look like bare metal. I always have my headers Jet Hot coated (or equivalent). Not only do they not rust but it helps a ton of heat get out the exhaust instead of radiating through the pipe to the surrounding areas. Looks like you have a lot of wiring/tubes/hoses in a close proximity.
Always like a set of over the counter headers that actually fit. Banks makes good parts.
They are bare metal and they are stainless steel. Banks claims they are supposed to last a lifetime. I hope so, I don't really want to take them off, lol.
I've heard about the coatings, but I don't know anything about them. My BBK headers on the Mustang are a polished ceramic coating, is that similar to it?
It does come very close to a few things, and the heat shield on the passenger side actually touches the AC lines, but were easily moved to provide some extra space. The wires dangling down on he passenger side are normally affixed to the fender well and up and away from the headers, and the kit also comes with some heat shields that I have to install.
All in all, it's a tight fit. I will probably invest in some extra heat shielding to be on the safe side.

Hey Nate,
Saw your list of planned upgrades for your Explorer and thought I'd help you out. Have you checked out PLX by Pilot?
I actually kicked it today. Tired, frustrated, and beyond irritated with tracing this stupid electrical gremlin. Going to resume work next week and just let it sit for now. Between the Chevelle and the truck I'm sick of fixing stuff.
