Good stuff, but I prefer the Delo ELC, but you probably already know that if you've read any of my ELC threads and posts.

I keep meaning to do that to my F250. I swapped it out over a year ago and it's been without a zip tie ever since. No problems so far but I still keep meaning to do it.

Gigger,
Thanks, it is a 2002 4x4 Limited Ultimate with the 7.3 and second row buckets that I did the V N B spring swap to last year. 168K miles, a great family and hunting rig that gets to sit during the week since the Escape handles the daily duties. It will get new front hubs this fall.

Now the GPS comes on with the interior circuit (from the remote unlocking the doors, not the door open only) and goes into shutdown once you turn off the truck and open a door. I wanted it to come on with the "on" key position, but it isnt totally terrible coming on earlier via remote...it is booting while I get in, belt up and start the truck.

Anyone know a fuse number I can use to get it to fire up on the "on" position only? What I don't like is unlocking the truck to get something out and seeing the GPS fire up.

if you have an aftermarket radio you can tap into the ignition power wire and then it will have power when te key is "on" or "acc"

I ran mine for a while without one then finally added a tie. The hose sits in there pretty tight but ya never know... Hate to see the belt cut a nice clearance gap in it.

I tapped into the radio supply fuse (power, not memory) and ran that via a relay to a BlueSea fuse block. Oddly it seems to power up the GPS (telling me the entire fuse block is powered up). The other items (backup camera, lights, etc.) are all controlled via switches so I don't see them power up since the switches are off.

I'm trying to figure out why sometimes the fuse block gets power and other times it doesn't...and why the radio isn't powering up as well (a second switch on the ground side?). When I enter the truck via the keypad, no power up...via remote, sometimes it powers up other times it doesn't.

Not sure if it is a time issue (unlock the doors within x amount of time of locking it, etc.).

Thinking I'm going to find a different fuse that is hot via the ignition "on" that ISN'T the radio and see what happens.

...where did you find the tubing for your door seal mod?

I went to Home Depot - 3/8'' tubing and dishwashing soap.

If your X is ever in cold weather areas, I would suggest latex tubing, it stays flexible even in cold climates, but it does cost a lot more.

I did the the first part of my the high idle mod. I added the wire to the harness and then put it all back together to test. Works great! Now I need to put a little silicon sealer on the connector for that wire and run a wire inside. I'll have to figure out something for the switch until I get the F-650 dash. Will sure be nice to be able to kick the idle up though.

Keep in mind that you won't need to go all the way around the full door. Just the back corners would suffice. I did all around on a couple of doors and realized what a huge pain that was, so I just did the rest only on the 2 back corners. Save time and material at the same time.

I ordered the 3/8" latex tubing from Levine Health Products, Redmond, Washington. They had the best price I could find for a full 50', not spliced on the web. With two people the mod is very easy and probably one of the best things I have done to the truck besides the V & B code spring swap and the Helwig.

Put a flowmaster and tip on mine the v10 has a very cool sound and I went on a trip shortly after and saw a 1-2 mpg increase on the lie o meter so probably picked up a little nothing substancial (spelling), next is fresh air intake and tuner.
