My 89 plow truck won't start... I think it may be the fuel pump, I can hear the one in the front tank run but not the rear one. FYI the rear tank is the only one that holds gas. lol

Got the Ex inspected today and failed.

I knew I had a couple of manifold studs that were broken off, but I did not know that it would fail inspection as a result. Frustrating, as it's not even leaking, and the repair requires the replacement of the manifold! $1,450 was the quoted repair from the Lincoln dealer that did the inspection.

On the upside it looks like my extended warranty may cover the repair. They're sending an adjuster out tomorrow to take a look, and if they do it'll only cost me a couple hundred. I'm capable of doing the job but this is one I really have no interest in tackling at the moment, and I'd be happy as could be to fork over a couple hundred bucks for a shiny new manifold.

Visited in-laws in Clearwater, FL and found a Shell with great price
for diesel $3.679 nearly 20 cents cheaper than my usual place in town.
Think I'll play powerball this week while I'm feeling lucky

I am sooooo glad I don't live where there is 'inspection'.

Good luck and keep us posted. Do the shop (or yourself) a favor and start hosing the bolts down with Blaster or better yet, Kroil daily...

That's good to know, if I have that problem I will JB Weld some fake bolts in there. I have heard of people fixing them while on though.

Because they automatically look for them which is why I would automatically glue some fake bolts in there and then make sure it looked good a block away.

Why is a new manifold required? All that's needed is a set of ARP's to hold that puppy down.

He was suggesting the penetrating oil so the remaining bolts would come out easier and without breaking.

ARP studs. High strength and yield.

Yes they would pass inspection unless the manifold is cracked and needs to be repaired/replaced.

Those stock ones look awfully small for what they do.
