What did you do to the X today?
Yes.
Wow, if you think that's easier than simply upgrading the existing wire, you and I view things from a very different perspective where "logic" and "easiest way" come together. Then again, since I suck at electrical, maybe it's a lot easier for you to move a big consumer.
Also, that idea you've posited doesn't include better grounding for the electrical system of the truck, like the cable kit does.

The stock cables are #4. The cables to the drivers side battery from the starter are about 6' longer than the ones to the passenger battery. This results in the pass battery providing about 75-80% of the cranking current. The upgrade reduces the wire contribution to loop impedance such that the distribution becomes about 55-45 pass to driver during crank. If you wanted them to share evenly you'd have to add length to the pass side cables to make them the same length but the bigger cables make it close enough.

Well... the Ex got me to the boat ramp... and then on the way out ...

I finished getting the e2 hitch on kinda, will need to take it to the RV place in Banning for torquing correctly. I just don't have the right tools yet. I may sell my Craftsman 3 piece tool box (tools never get back in it anyway), and get some BIGGER WRENCHES!!! Right now we're just waiting for the Friday traffic to die down in Pasadena before heading out. Watching sigalert and it's pretty good except for that stretch thru Pasadena to the 57..It is nice that the 210 now goes all the way thru now. Pictures on the way home after we get the setup right. I don't need 57,000 people to tell me the butt end of my trailer is a couple inches too high. THe EX is sitting 1/2 inch high in front, so we're gonna take it out to Banning like this and get it done right by a pro, so we'll have it right for the trip to SDAK next summer....
If you were going to do this what you'd actually want to do is take anything voltage sensitive (the FICM on 6.0s or the PCM and IDM on 7.3s) and isolate them to one batt during crank with the starter on the other. I've considered it but I think it's overkill when a little bit of bigger wire and battery maintenance will keep things ship shape.

A visit to a 3 pad truck scale, like a CAT scale, is your best bet for getting the WD hitch properly dialed in. Don't count on the RV dealer "Pro" getting it right, some do know what they are doing and some are completely clueless as to how to get it setup right. I hope your guy is one of the good ones. The goal is have the EX's front returned to unloaded weight/height and sitting more or less level and the TT to be slightly nose low from level.
Enjoy your trip, take some pictures to share here and be sure to give us a post tow report!
