i had the stock track bar, adjustable track bar and drop bracket for a 4" lift. ended up using the drop bracket, and i trimmed about 1" off each part of the adjustable track bar. they were hitting each other in the sleeve. perfect now
I just bought an excursion, but this pick makes me wish I hadn't. Four door king ranch with the "Big Boy" lights on top. Even the wife (not a car person) said, that's pretty".
Pulled it out of the garage today and put it back in a little while later. Put new front tires on the lawn tractor after I blew one out last week, and it was easier to deal with all that with the Ex out of the garage. Can't complain about getting 21 years out of a set of steer tires!
your Ex looks fantastic! black is such a hard to keep up color. but you just remind me how bad i need to clay bar, buff, wax and fully detail the interior of mine. thanks...i think
i finally uploaded the Vid from the drive today...so nice out! just wish it was about 30 degree's warmer!
I think with anything over about 2" of lift you'll need a longer (adjustable) track bar.
Looks like I'm gonna run 255/85/16 Toyo MT's on the dually!
Can someone explain to me what a trackbar does and why you need a longer one if your lifted? I have lifted springs and sit about 4" higher but I didn't install a different track bar?

The track bar locates the axle under the frame horizontally. This is what prevents it from being pushed off-center, since the leaf springs have some give to them. If the truck is lifted, the track bar must be lengthened to compensate for it - or the axle will not be centered under the truck.
Look and see if your front tires 'stick out' the same on both sides. If not, this is a relatively cheap fix and there are a few companies that make solutions.

Ahhh they do not have noticed that before. Isn't that the bar that is torqued to like 300ft lbs. Probably something I need to get the part and have a shop install for me?

All this trac bar talk has me curious. If I just do a standard V code in the front, no additional lifting, do I need to replace mine or will the stock one suffice?
