changing recently painted vehicle from solid to two tone?

I painted my 76 f350 a couple weeks ago. I painted it black because I love black trucks. Now after it's done I'm looking at it thinking it needs something more. So I'm thinking about two tone, black and gray. Can I simply tape off the areas I want to stay black (obviously the paint line will be hidden behind the trim), sand the areas I want to be gray and apply the gray? Then when I clear would I just clear the newly painted gray areas? or am I crazy and just being too **** about how this thing should look! Thanks for any responses.

I have black/red two tone i think it looks sweet you can check it out in my profile but if you decide to do a two tone you could also pin stripe on the lines that you taped off
