I agree with Tardster even not working if you get the title, cab, fenders, bed box, other parts, engine, and tranny you could start to piece together the makings of a good truck. I'm looking for a good donor vehicle myself to gut an engine, tranny, and axles and it sounds like its all there for you. Not to mention a it's a 56 to most it is the most desirable year.

Well, we went and saw it. the steering wasnt hooked up, no interior, the glass was delaminating, had some kind of 80s car looking steering column and wheel, hood wasnt bolted down, just sitting, there was no carb on that 360, thats why the engine was seized.
Cab was rust free though, looked good. I decided to pass, even at $400. It would be a great project for someone, there just isnt really anything I can use on my 1954. And for $400 I can buy that brand new $289..

Hi Ryan,
It's great to know that not every '56 for sale is in the $30,000 range (there's another post about a '56 on Craigslist for $32k)
Not sure about Texas, but, usually the owner can get a new title (if he ever had one), or you can get one with a notarized bill of sale. All this goes out the windows if the VIN / data tag is gone !!!! The only time I've had a hard time was car assembled from bit-n-pieces of other cars. ...or a lost title from CaliFUNia, but that's a whole other story.
I bet if the owner posted it here it'd be gone in a heart beat! (Why not make a couple bucks: buy it, and post it here yourself.) If you were closer, Walford and I would be fighting to see who could get cash to you first.
