you would see missing weights on the rim, take a look,well.....you just painted the outsides before the shake happened,so you'd really see the blank spot lol.but you'll see where the weights were,if there are any missing.least on the front, and inside of the rear tires.

If you have 3 and 1/2 inches play in the steering wheel something needs to be adressed.
Leave the tires on the ground and have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth past the play whie you are watching the rod ends. There should be zreo play in any of them.

this is a picture of the two bad joints so you can better see, also ball joints look great as you can probably tell

now this one is on the driver side I think his is tie rod end, PO mustve lied to me when he told me theyre brand new, I think what happened is these joints were all bad and the other day when I drove with the plow on it mustve annialated them,

please help if you know what these are, I tried todo my best explaining, I wish I could take welding/metal fabrication AND auto shop at school
okay so I'm looking into these parts but I'm getting a few different tie rod parts, theres passenger inner and outer and driver inner outer how do I know whether I need inner or outer? and I mixed up an earlier post and called it the track bar but I guess its drag link sorry about that

okay guys I got the wheels balanced and the truck rides alot smoother now, next up is fixing the tie rods and drag link bar, if you guys could please look at the pics above to tell me wether I need inner or oouter tie rods end? I don't know which is which, I'm in no rush for this, would like i squared away by mid august though, will hopefully have my leveling kit installed aswell so I only pay for alignment once

To be honest with you I replace it all when I do it. Not being there to inspect it it is hard to determine what you need. I would bite the bullet and do it all side to side. Besides if you don't then a shop may just say you need them to align it any way.

LMC Truck Parts - Page 121

However being an F350 it's *slightly* different in that the drag link attaches close to the passenger side where the F250's attach closer to the center. F350 is a better design in my opinion.

hi ive read a lot in this column ...good info
i have an 89 f450 7.3 idi when i bought it it drove 70 mph anywhere i wanted to go but rather quickly it started to shake worse and more at about 40 to 55 mph when it first started i could feather thru it and go but now it comes quickly and the truck becomes uncontrollable.
i have done 2 things before this happened
1 blew a tire and have since put 3 new tires on and balanced all of the tires
2 i tightened the steering box gear tightening nut and put shims in the steering shaft steering is nice and tight with just a little play
any ideas?

my f450 was doing this too.i thought for sure there was going to be some suspension work required but i had the tires balanced and front end lined up and it was just like new.jack a wheel up and pry it up down, try to wiggle in/out to inspect for anything loose.
