smf 7.3

Hey Rubberduck,

I've read that you are the man to talk to about valair smf swap. I have a 96 f-350 dmf in need of major repair. Actually replacement is the only option. This is a one ton I work daily pulling a 3 ton chipper with 1,000 plus in the dump. Answers?

Thanks for anything to help, Bud

I was looking to find out best application for the job. Ceramic/kevlar or kevlar/kevlar or otherwise.

Go with the ceramic kevlar then. Or the kevlar kevlar

Call up Gary at valair and ask him about it.

The kevlar kevlar will work in the slip point really smooth, but is rated for over 400 hp.

the Ceramic Kevlar, which is what I have, is a little jumpy, but smooth.

Just call valair and they will help you with your questions best. Tell them what you do and what you tow. They will take all the time talking with you to help you make you decision.
Be sure to tell them Cody from Death Row Diesel sent you, for the discount.

What Neal said. LOL Just call up there and talk to Dan or Gary. Tell them I sent you. (Cody from Death Row Diesel....that's me...hi!) Tell them what you do with the truck, and they will set you up a perfect clutch for a great price. That's all there is to it.

Um, Neal.......I need and update already!

Hey Thanks guys. I've got a call into them hoping for a response. This dmf is terrible. Might have been nice new, but sounds and feels like crap now.

Good deal.

Just remember, you'll get strange noises from an SMF no matter which brand you go with.

Just how the resonance from the motor works, sounds off in the transmission at low RPM's.

You'll like it!

Just take your time putting it in, and if there is a break in period on your clutch, mind your throttle till its over.
500 miles for my Kev/Ceramic

It was hurtfull 500 miles too. I wanted to see what my truck could do for 500 miles. They are not even really broke in all the way after that either.
They just get better as you go.
