Very interested in the final product of the kit. I am currently carbed with a C6 in my 1978 CCSB however am building an E4OD and have been deciding which EFI system to run and control transmission. I have also been collecting all the pieces to turbo the truck as I tow a lot.

If you make this kit with numbers to back it up then it would be the easy way out of me having to pioneer my own setup.

Any idea on a price? Thank you for the work and information you have supplied thus far!

A bit normal unfortunately, many come on here with no idea of how complex it is to get a manufacturing idea off the line, and despite being full of best intentions, it just stops.

It seems that people want quick one step solutions to everything, and while this might work for some things, it does not work for all. Not everything is NOT easy peasy!

I fully agree. And sometimes people just lose motivation beside having other priorities...If this same project had been going on 10 years ago I would he would be backed up with orders.

Well, looks like he sold it in 01-2014. Looks like they were/are working on a supercharger to manufacture and sell for the F-series 7.5L?

Let me start off by thanking everyone who has posted technical information, how to's, do's & don't. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased a 1996 F350 4x4 dump truck with the 460 EFI and 5-speed manual. Great truck, only 44k miles but I'm looking to improve my HP for towing and after all the reading I've done there's much out there for these engines.

I did purchase the BBK 3502 throttle body spacer but haven't had time to put it on yet. Should I increase injector sizing as well?

I've looked into the M-9000-T50 FORD RACING MASS AIR CONVERSION KIT, seems that ford racing doesn't carry them anymore but there are still places to get them. Has anyone done one of these? Seems like a great place to start to allow the engine to respond to upgrades instead of running a fixed routine for air/fuel. Since I have the manual transmission will make the change over even easier.

I will be taking other advise of cutting the air intake horns and remove the cats, seems to make sense and is straight forward.

With the TB increase, and tentative injector increase depending on feedback, should I adjust the timing up a few degrees? I've read that it will help. I live in the sticks and there isn't much for tuner's in my area. Dump trucks don't do much for on dyno's so I'm kinda pokin in the dark here.

Thanks again

Don't increase injector size. The computer bases it's pulse width on an assumption of the injector flow rates. Stick with the stock 24lb/hr injectors.

This is a very old thread and would best suit you to make your own because this one was originally for head porting and potential forced induction.
96f350pa, are you in PA. If so what area.
Tb spacer will be minimal gain if any. Mass air is for if you really want to do more engine work. And an adjustable fuel pressure regulator will be better money spent on your otherwise stock truck. My truck likes 47-50 psi to get rid of my top end lean condition.

I'm in NW PA between Pitt. and Erie.

UNTAMND,
That is good advise, I'm still learning to navigate this forum, still not sure how to start my own thread yet. I will play around with it more and get one started.

Why would you recommend a fuel pressure regulator? Just as a stand alone add on or to go with other additions?

DIYit,
Thanks for the advise on the fuel injectors, I couldn't find much support about that topic on the web. I wasn't sure since the air inlet volume would be increasing if the fuel volume needed increased as well.

This is not my daily driver. I'm not looking to build a monster engine, just want more HP for towing. anything helps!

Best regards

Personally I'd post in this forum, it is for the body style of your truck and includes pretty much everyone who posts in this v8 bbf only page.
1987 - 1996 F150 & Larger F-Series Trucks - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
Underneath the heading on the left, or to the left of all the page numbers, is a button saying "new thread"

I had a lean condition and loss of power once I got my 460 above 3800-4000 rpm. The adjustable regulator allowed me to up the fuel pressure from idle to max rpm. While I didn't need it below 3000rpm, it didn't hurt. But it helped me on the upper end.

The computer can compensate a certain amount. Putting bigger injectors, the computer can't adjust very well especially at idle. The fuel regulator is a minor adjustment, and the computer can adjust accordingly.
Mass air will allow you to do more modifications, but unless you can find the "unicorn" mass air 460 ecu, or are willing to spend the cash on tuning software, you're out of luck for more mods.

If you have not read this topic from the beginning, I suggest you do. It is great info and you'll learn a lot about what needs to be done to get huge power gains from this engine.

Don't mean to make this a sales pitch but there is a lot we are working on right now for the old 7.5L EFI and we are expecting 500-600whp on 91 octane pump gas easily.
Fascinating product plans. One question: how updatable will the programming be? That is, will the "smarts" be on an upgradable EPROM or similar mechanism such that as experience accumulates, that experience can be incorporated into "profiles" that optimize various use cases (street, street/strip, strip, pulling [LD or SD])?
