I think the intakes are the same. Mr-Pipeline had a thread about his 2V swap of a van motor into a truck. In it he has pics of the two side by side and he says they're the same.

All the mustang and crown vic 4.6 to 5.4 swaps I have read have said they are the same with a E-series or F-series. should be the same with the 6.8.

The truck mounts too far back and are not the correct bolt pattern as the van. I had to take the van mounts and cut the top off. I then tack welded them to the K member. I'll put a nice bead on them when I'm happy with where the motor sits, but that will have to wait until I get the 4x4 oil pan. Here's me grinding on the top of where the motor mounts bolt too.<table style="border: medium none; font-family: Myriad,Helvetica,Verdana,sans-serif;" border="0" width="1024"><tbody><tr><td colspan="2" style="border: medium none;"><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" allownetworking="all" src="http://w765.photobucket.com/flash/tagWidget.swf?mediaURL=aHR0cDovL2k3NjUucGhvdG9idWN rZXQuY29tL2FsYnVtcy94eDI5MS93b3VkaWVpbnR4L0lNR18xM Tg5LmpwZw%3D%3D" width="1024" height="768"></td></tr></tbody></table>

I've been doing some searching on the weight difference from the 302/C4 it had and the V10/4R100 that's going into the F150. These are numbers I've kind of averaged high, because it seem like you get a different answer for the same question.
302 EFI=500 / C4=180=====total=680lbs
V10= 650 / 4R100= 300====total=950lbs
Guessing by the way my cherry picker struggles to lift the V10/4R100, I'm thinking there is a 270lbs difference.?

Without knowing anything really about it, I would say, yes, there's probably that much difference. The extra long deep-skirt block, the longer crank, extra rods, the 4R100 versus the C4, I can see that being EASILY 270 pounds.

You know, I never even realized that. It IS a 5R110 otherwise known as the TorqShift.

On the E-series 2-valve V10's, they got the TS in 2005, at least I THINK so - I remember spec'ing an E350 for my brother-in-law, and the V10 option included the TS. Unlike the Excursion.

That looks like a good swap and you are making great progress. I hope you can make the E's dash fit so all your wiring lines up with few problems. While you have the space to do it I suggest that you get some steel flat stock and box the frame as far back as you can. Your truck has a light duty frame and will flex, ALOT. I would also look for some heavier duty front coils to keep the front bumper out of tha dirt. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress.

Did some searching on the 5R110. I hope and believe you guys are right. The shifter has [(D) 3 2 1] so that's why I thought it was a four speed. Much prefer a 5 speed over the 4.
Thanks for the "boxing the frame" idea. Didn't think about doing that. Will get that done after I like where the motor sits and weld the motor mounts.

Yes the 5R110 torqshift is a FAR superior to the slush box 4r100. Dont get me wrong, the 4r100 can be built to take anything, but stock vs. stock, the torqshift is superior. Its a very respected transmission.

BTW great swap, very neat idea. be sure to keep us updated with plenty of pics. the more the better LOL
