anyone ever here of a 461 truck enging??? i havent.Do parts interchange with the 429/460???

 

Not me but I think the early lincolns had 462s or something and they are totally different.

 

The 67 and earlier Lincolns have the 462 MEL series, never heard of a 461.

 

This is just a guess, but in the older trucks, at least in the FE engines Ford used to bump the number up 1 to indicate a heavy duty truck engine rather than the run of the mill FE. Thus in the heavier duty trucks you had 361's and 391's for example. I don't know if this could still be the case.

 

Yup, 461 was a big truck engine, made a 429T as wel. They share 1 thing with the FE truck engines, the big crank snout
