OK, next question (steering column)

I was looking at a tilt column out of a 72 Chevy C10 that turned out to be what I believe might be too long (35- 1/2") I am using a Volare clip, and now I'm wondering if anybody has used the stock column with the Chrysler clip. If you have, what bearing did you use to center the steering shaft?

Mid Fifty sells the bearing (or bushing) If you have access to a lathe a simple bushing made from 1" delrin will work just fine it does not need to be an actual bearing nor even super high precision. Lock it into the column housing with a pin or screw or two and you are good to go. That's what Ididit uses on the bottom of their column.

From the net:

Polyoxymethylene (commonly referred to as POM and also known as polyacetal or polyformaldehyde) is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability. It is commonly known under DuPont's trade name Delrin.
