This is my last non-ford truck and it's going up for sale, however I can't sell it until it starts!

1998 dodge ram 2500, 5.9L V8, 4X4, automatic

Last week I started it but it revved very high (throttle cable stuck) so I turned it off figured I'd deal with it when I had more time. Went to move it today and it turns over but won't start - no spark. I have since replaced the ignition coil and cap and rotor. The fuel pump does engage and the ASD is functioning correctly. Any ideas, any input is always appreciated.

Can`t be much help other than to suggest you check any ground wires around top of engine and any from engine to frame and body.

 

There's probably a hall effect sensor in the distributor to trigger the spark.

Also, some mopars have crank sensors.

You might try allpar.com or one of the other mopar forums. ( I think that there's a dodgetruck.com)

 

It's fixed, replaced the crank sensor. Thanks for the leads.
