It was an interesting day to say the least. The county water authority has been working on installing some new water lines and they had the road below my house closed so that they could make the connection to the exisitnig main. That meant that I had to add about 5 miles to my commute today just to get around them.

Work was not too bad and then this afternoon I had a meeting with people from other departments with a vendor that we are pissed at already, and he was at least 20 minutes late. Needless to say we vented on him and basically told him that the company that he works for will do what we asked or else we are finished with them.

And right now, I am eating some dinner as my wife had to work a little late and got home about 45 minutes ago

Well at least it was just for the day, but they sure made a mess of the road that the town fixed last year.

We will have to see about the vendor and what they are willing to do to make it right.

Well this was not repaved, they stoned and oiled it which basically means that they sprayed hot tar on the road and then spread fine stone on top of it which is the normal top dressing in this area. The issue is that the former and current highway superintendents had been trying for the last 8 years to get the road done.

Hey Neil, is this vendor related to the vendor that is making the DMV registration non-stickers??? Greetings from SW Virginia. 10 hrs 20 mins. I kept hoping that PA would run out of "Road Work Ahead" signs. But, that didn't happen.

Rub it in now George. You do have the giant reserve tank to bring some back up this way for me right????

Seriously, the best I have seen it around here is $2.83 a gallon.

Last time I tried bringing up some extra gas, the truck got thirsty so I had to switch tanks. Guess there was some nasty weather south of here in NC. Flood warnings in the next county. Missed all the fun, weather was nice all the way. Got to see if I can find something to eat the box of choc. chip cookies isn't all that filling when it's spread out over 10 hours. Then off to bed.

Neil I pay 2.83 a gallon for midgrade at the shell station down the street from my house.and one of the local grocery stores is running a thing where you get a point for every dollar you spend in the store and for 100 points you get 10 cents off up to 50 cents off for 500 points per gallon of gas.
