You keep bugging me every 5 minutes and I'll tell him to take his time. Or you could just do them yourself - but wait - that would take you even longer than he is

Not really. Oh wait - you mean his response will be interesting when he sees it. Yup, it will

For the ranger. It is the project I never finished and where most of the parts for the supercab are coming from. As for the "shape" of it... It's good or bad - depending on who you ask.
In order to keep this short and try and stay on topic I'll just post a couple pics. It still sits how you see it in the pics and I'd pretty much gaurantee you no one from this forum will buy it or would know what to do with it

Now back to the topic at hand.

No work on the supercab last night. I got my new bolt bin back from powdercoating so the last couple nights have been spent playing with my nuts... and bolts

The bolt bin is 1/2 the size of this one and sits on top of it. I lowered the stand on this 9 1/2" so just a milk crate fits under it now, but I look eye to eye with the bottom row of the upper bin. Time to set the bottom one on the ground or leave a step stool by the thing Both bins are preety much packed - TONS of grade 5 and grade 8's in there

So enough about my nuts and back to the build.

I spent a little more time today playing in cad and drawing more of my brackets for the "temporary" seat mounts. These will bolt onto the stock sliders and will hold 2 beard style seats and most likely a center console. It'll stay that way until I cage the thing and build seat mounts off that.
Tonight I'm going to look at how my templates for the seats look and then look at if a 33 gal. tank out of a bronco will easily pop in place of the rear 19 gal. tank. After that I've gotta spend some time on the '72 alfa as it has been left neglected for far too long and I finally got the brake line I had been waiting on for it.

it was going to be interesting because its not really in any kind of shape good or bad....i dont think he was expecting what he got when he asked that.

Are you still going to cram 4 seats in or just the 2 for now?

The plan is to try for 4 eventually. It may go to a smaller bench in the back that can fit 1 regularly and 2 if needed - or worse case scenario 3 buckets.

For this 1st go-round with getting it running it'll just have the 2 front seats. If I get adventurous I'll look at throwing 2 in the back - but I'm thinking those won't come in until the cage does.

I believe the frame is different between the 73-79 to 80-96 but this is a link to how it's done on a '90's p/u :https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-tank-mod.html

I know the crossmember on my truck isn't up to your quality but it was quick and easy.

I looked at it last night and forgot that I had looked at it a while back. 33 gal. bronco tank is about 19-20" front to back whereas the stock 19 gal. tank is about 24. Therefore you have to move cross member or put in the bronco ones. More time/effort than it is worth for me seeing as I will be putting a fuel cell in this eventually...

So you'd know how to finish it? It's set up for canter mount a-arms but none of that is done - just the lower mounts. Also the cage is just stubbed out the back. I was going to do a 4 link for it. All of this would take a lot of time and $$ to finish - which is why it is sitting here like it is...

And as for the Supercab update - I got nothin. I looked at the seat mounts and need to make some adjustments. Looked at the 33 gal. bronco tank and it's too much effort for a temporary solution.

I got distracted organizing my bolt bin a bit more last night (it's still not done either). Because of that and because I was having some issues running the speedo cable on the alfa I didn't get near as much done as I wanted on the alfa. Therefore tonight will be another alfa night after I look briefly at the seat mounts again.

That's a big part of the reason I didn't post the build there. I may post a few pics when I'm done but that's it.

The other reason for not posting the build there and on RDC is I frequent (meaning read/post in daily) 6-7 forums. I couldn't keep up with posting the build in all forums so bits and pieces of it are going everywhere

If you don't mind flingin $$ around the ranger is a GREAT start for the $$. It would cost about $10k for a shop to do what has been done to the truck. I'm selling it with a long list of goodies for well less than 1/2 of that

Finally got to my uncle's place before he left last night and I got the top portions of the front 2 body mounts turned down.

Does the salsa act as a cooling agent while milling the aluminum down?
