6637 install question
So i got my 6637 and it came with directions but they dont really go into detail on what to do. I have removed the top of the filter box the filter and the 4 bolts that hold it in. I also removed the terminals for the battery and the plastic thing covering it. Theres still the huge plastic thing around the battery and all that. Do i remove that too or does it stay im kinda confused?

The huge plastic thing around the battery and all that is the bottom of the airbox. On some years it's in two pieces and you can just remove the bottom half of the old air box. In others (mine, ughh) you have to pull the whole thing out and cut the airbox bottom part off. Not a big deal, just time.

The thing doesnt want to fit. Theres a thing thats cylinder shaped and silver i think to the bottom left of the fluid reservoir and it his that it doesnt need more than a half a centimeter to make it where the hood doesnt touch at all im thinkin about jsut leaving it the way it is.

Mine rubbed a bit when I first got mine (all I did was take off the top of the air/battery box, remove the lower airbox and nothing else. I do a lot of off-roading so I figured that pinning in down would keep it from shifting. Unfortunately, it was deforming the filter and really rubbing it hard. So I took my Dremel and cut off some of the bottom of the airbox mount to let it sit an inch or so lower. It's still firmly planted and now doesn't rub either. Problem solved for about an hour of work and all it cost me was the beer I drank while I did it!

Another option is to grab a passenger side battery tray from a wrecked truck, (or buy it new.) I have a drivers side tray from a 98 on mine and it looks identical to the stock passenger side one. With all that plastic out of the way, there should be a lot more room to tuck it down and out of the way of the hood.
