Lotus503...I was fumbling through the posts when i saw your pictures of the old Ford wonder bread truck I just bought. It sounds like you would have done the old beast some justice. I am not trying to rub it in by posting. I was just startled when i saw the photos so i thought i would let you know where the truck ended up as I would have wanted to know. I brought it back to Belton Mo., it is a 1949 as he had the old Kansas title for it. My plans are to take the exterior back to original, all white with Hostess Cakes and Wonder Bread logos. Minimalist to almost no interior only adding seating room for the fam. Debating on keeping the flat six or trading up the entire running gear for late model Ford due to the suspension mods it will have. I am a minitrucker at heart so it will have airride and when parked the body will lay on the ground. I shot a short walk around when I got it home you can view it here
. It really was a great find but ridiculously hard to pull out of the mud up there...we used a bulldozer. Contact me if you would like... BJ

J = FoMoCo symbol for a 1 ton Parcel Delivery.

1950 and earlier, AFAIK: Vanette

1951/52: F3 Parcel Delivery.

1953/76: P350 (P Series Parcel Delivery).

What a great find, I would have bought it on the spot, given the chance. A '51 in Florida recently sold just before I discovered it. Keep us updated with photos.

Did you decide against the S10 frame since you are building tube rails?

No, I only used the front frame clip for the suspension. Like a typical subrfame, then welded my new rails to the ends of it. Still gusseting and building crossmembers but will update my photos soon.
