97 F250 HD radio switch

In my 97 F250 HD I have only an am/fm radio. I read somewhere that to put a Ford Am/Fm radio with a CD player in it was not simply a plug and drop in deal. Would the Ford Am/FM with casette be a simple plug and drop in deal? Thanks, Keystonepaul

Going from memory, the 97 f250 is the same body as the 92-5 f150. I would suspect those years of radios in any combo would slap right in and run. CD or cassette should make a difference on the plugs since you have a couple of power/grounds and then the speaker leads. That radio should have been a single din, of which there are alot of aftermarket options that should be comparable in price with better features than OE. Then pick up a $10 wiring harness and life is good.
