Guys started logging mileage after i loaded a mileage tracker app on my droid phone. after i installed the 5 star tunes 87 perf.(thought i had 87 econ. till i spoke with mike recently) 87 tow haul/93 tow haul. first tank after FM 70 muffler, got 16.7 yhen it bottomed out to 8.29 mpg ...found the fuel pressure regulator crapped out. swapped it out and mpg slowly climbed into 10 mpg range with the following per tankfull....

Most driving is a mix city /highway....good gas (chevron) stay away from ethanol. not ******* it out,but driving my truck. 2000 2 valve v-10 202000 miles + - no codes . overhead data says 11.7 all the time


is this average for the others running 5 star tunes y-pipe and flowmaster 70 muffler?? will probably ****** the y pipe when i get time....any other ideas? thanks

not trying to hijack my own thread.... be sure to download the google sky map....been reading the other posts, seems others are having similar problems after snatching factory y-pipe.

 

I know, it's awesome. The Wif gets mad at me when I try to navigate the roads by the stars, I don't see what's wrong with it.

I'm interested to hear what the Y-pipe outcome is, I've got one at the house getting ready to install it(was going to wait till I got the eBay headers and knock out two birds...)

 

what year is your truck? might hold off on the y-pipe for a bit.....got a scan today, to try to narrow down my issues...y-pipe does help with top end,BUT mileage will suffer....

 

I've decided to nickle and dime the parts (cai, cherrybomb, headers) until I can afford to get a tune at the same time, I can do all(most) of the work, so I'm gonna keep reading till I can decide on the right setup.

...plus, started reading about the X and B code spring swaps, thinking about taking a trip to the local junk yard this weekend....ooh look a shiny object
