BatteriesI
97 F350 question; I just bought this truck and loving it; my first diesel.
Question: where can I read about the battery setup? I’ve searched and not found much. Are they tied together or does each power unique circuits?
On a separate note, what is the best manual for this truck? Back in the day, Haines published good manuals...

Best way to learn about this is to read up about DC Parallel Circuits and Series Circuits.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series...allel_circuits
So, in a Series circuit, you add voltage together.
In a Parallel circuit, you add power together.
Our batteries work in Parallel to give us more cranking amps on start and overall, but keeps the system at 12 volts.

When I am back on a PC, I will link you to the factory manual.
I like Haynes and Chilton for odd tips on systems you will be fixing that the factory manual omits or expects one to already know. Armed with all three you should be able to fix everything.
Spend the cash on better batteries. They have a higher CCA and could be difference between stranded and starting. Group 65 is what you need from memory.
