Not having any luck finding a replacement?

 

In between no time and no money it's been tough to look.

My biggest issue is justifying spending what I consider big money on a bike. (6 to 8 grand)

I think I'd be better off to buy a car and fix the buell. That way when my youngest kid starts driving next year they can inherit the car. And I'll still have the bike. I need to stop driving the excursion everyday. The wear and tear and the gas mileage is tough. Plus she aint all that nimble around town.

 

I bet not.

 

So I'm broke as a joke and after I spend a big chunk of cash on the excursion the bike will head to the shop for a new top end, new air box, new exhaust and tune up. Don't think I can swing a new rear shock.

No beater car. Heck no car period.

I'll be back on the buell for my daily driver hopefully by march/April.

 

Sounds like a plan

 

New drummer exhaust ordered. Two to three week wait.

Taking the bike to the shop tomorrow or Monday.

New stock top end, re-using the stock air box, taking the rusted out muffler off and replacing with new, syncing TB's. No bottom end work. Just doing enough to get another 50k. That's how long these things last. Certainly aint no Honda. But no Honda is like this Buell.

 

50k is a pretty good distance...

 

Lots of interest in the old Kawasaki but no one has shown up with any cash yet.

The Buell is finally in the shop. I'm in no hurry. He's going to check it out and give me a estimate. I'm thinking I"ll get it back in a month. Still two weeks on the exhaust.

Slowly things are coming together.

 

I really need to get out and ride mine some, I haven't put hardly any miles on it since October I've been so damn busy.

 

Kawasaki has found a new home. Guy came a long way to pick it up. He seemed knowledgeable about the bike. And was going to fix it up.

Exhaust shop wrote me today and said he was about done fabbing everything up. Probably ship next week. Looking like the end of March I'll be back on a street bike full time again.

Planning to take the dirt bike down east this weekend. I'm going to try and get over to the black swamp trails and explore that area of the Croatan Forest.

 

That's about 10 miles from me.

 

I might not get over there this weekend with the weather. But I'm going to keep the bike down there for the rest of the year. I'll shoot you a text if I know I'm headed that way.
