cant get in or out!

first of all im having a hard time turning the key to lock or unlock so i decided not to lock my doors anymore.
now i tried to get into my truck and now button you push with your thumb is stuck in-so i crawled in thru the passanger side and tried to pull up on the lever to open the door and that wont go up so the door is stuck.

I'd pull off the door panel and see what's going on. The mechanism is probably needs a shot of fluid film.

I think the door has to be open. LOL

I would tap on the handle some and try not to damage it. Spray some PB Blaster or liquid wrench in around it at the same time. May even have to try spraying it in thru the slot for the window. Tap on it till the button pops out and try to open it from the inside. You need to remove the locking mechanism to lube it up sounds like to me.

Yea, use fluid film if you got it, seeing its non solvant based, if you get any on your door seals or plastics, it wont eat it up.

If the lube doesn't do the trick them you can remove the key mechanism to get to the rod attached to the lock.
I've broken into my own truck doing this. (Don't ask) LOL

Use a hook tool to remove the keeper (#20 in the pict below). Once it's removed you pull the lockset (#19) by rolling it out of the hole. Then grasp the rod (#4) and pull up to unlock it.

It's not the chrome piece. Open the other door and you will see it.
In the picture above you are looking from the inside to outside. It's between the door edge and the lock pillar.
I've used a serrated blade knife but you might want to use some tape to protect the paint...but anything with a small hook on the end should do. You pull it towards the rear of the truck.
