so there is one hole on each side for the rear mount? so i can bolt those two and drill the rest so its lined up, then just measure 52" from the middle of the spring bolt to the middle of the rsk spring bolt and drill holes for the front mount and i believe i need a 4x4 crossmember too right?

Yeah, tell me about it. I've never drilled through anything that tough before...

The crossmembers are the same.

That's correct, you can bolt the one bolt on each rear bracket, drill the rest and bolt it up, then measure for the front bracket.

Speaking of the alignment how is yours holding up and is your truck eating tires or is it pretty good? I have a 85 F150 with an 88 F250 donor frame that I plan on doing this swap with. Also I was always told you couldnt do a RSK with the TTB front end. Am I mistaken? If so that would be awesome.

I havent trucked a lot of mileage on mine as of you, due to it still being in storage. The trip I made on the interstate, it did not damage or excess wear to the tires, or the suspension... Reason being, alignment shop did a great job getting the shims and tolerances spot on..

You can do a RSK with the TTB D50.. Reason being, you lift the outside of the axle on the front of the springs with a RSK. Now, with having some lift, you can go two ways afterwards to make sure you dont eat tires or bushings...

Get the shims put in, and alignment done right..

Or get a longer center bracket put on the TTB axle, to level out the outside of the hubs.

You can do both as well, or one.. Your choice, but it can be done, as you can see from what me and Evan did to ours. You just have to get the alignment done!

Yep, for me I wanted the Dana 60 really bad, and it was a simpler swap.

You can put a RSK on a D50, you just need to get drop-down brackets for the center pivots. You can usually buy those brackets from a company like Rough Country or Superlift. You can get the 4" lift drop brackets and it should be perfect for the 3" RSK.

The reason I need to lift it is because I have a set of military humvee tires the 36x12.5x16.5 that are going on the truck. So if I am understanding you correctly Falcon I would need to pick up the drop brackets and then do a reverse shackle kit to make that work correct?

Yes, to keep the stock geometry for the TTB you need to drop down the center brackets the same amount as you lift it.

An inch or so won't effect it much, but if you are doing a 3-4" lift you should drop down the brackets about 4" as well to keep the alignment good.

I have lots of room for bigger tires with the 3" RSK and Dana 60. My sig pic is with 285's (33") and I could probably fit 37's if I wanted to. The biggest I want to go is 35's though, but I'm happy with 33's for now.

Can anyone of you fellas tell me if the F250, extended cab, "short box" 4x4 has a single rear shaft or is it a double, like the 2x4.
The one I have is a 1996 2x4 and the double shaft on it now will be too long once I do the 4x4 conversion. I've tried google but but can't seem to get anything.
Ive seen a few pics, but just can't get any of the underside completely.
Any Ideas....

I can't help you... sorry. Both the 2wd and 4wd crew cabs had a two piece rear shaft.

Sorry to keep posting these questions. Would I be better off with this
92-97 F-250/F-350 front shackle reversal - Sky's Off-road Design
or something like this
Ford Suspension Lift Kit
I want to put the D50 off of an 88 F250 on my 85 F150 and it needs to clear 36in tires. I will have to purchase all new shocks anyways since they are shot on the F250 which is what makes the second option a little more appealing since they are included. Thanks guys.

If you went with the second kit you'd have to figure out a way to mount the leaf springs. The RSK comes with the front leaf spring bracket and a shackle for the rear but you still need a stock style rear spring bracket.

Your 85 F150 should have coil springs so you need to get leaf springs as well.

So either you get stock leaf springs and stock rear bracket and do the RSK, or you figure out how to modify the front frame to mount the shackle and get a stock rear bracket and get the lift springs in the second option you posted.

I already have leaf springs and the stock rear shackle. I guess my other question is how much of a better ride do you get from the rsk?? Is it worth the extra $?
