Hey Leo, Just measured my front (rear) shaft from joint to joint and it's the exact same size as yours.
It's only a two wheel drive, I thought it would have to be shortened, once the transfer case was added.
My rear shaft that goes to the diff is 331/2 inches, but that one will not or should not have to be touched.
My truck is an "extended cab" 1996, your's say's club cab, thats not the 4 door version , is it?

Mine is the 4 door version with a short bed. Maybe the basic lengths of an extended cab with a long bed is the same as the crew cab with a short bed? Interesting!

Ya, you could be right, this info may help someone else.
Oh well, I'll just have to wait until they come apart and take a measurement from there.
Thanks for the effort, though.

Just wondering, I'm getting close to pulling the rear diff out....
Can you just pull the whole diff, with the springs still attached (rear) or am I not seeing something that would prevent this. The perches are the same on both trucks.

You just need to unhook the driveline, unbolt the springs from the frame, detach the sway bars (if it has them), unhook the brake line, and then you can pull the whole thing out.

They're not the same, super cab long bed has a 155" wheelbase and on a crew cab short bed it's 152"

Just a thought for those that use this thread in the future.

Of course this is the ideal time to do the reverse shackle swap.
Good point.....
Thats exactly what I'll be doing on mine.
A notch at the bottom will, of course have to be made on the bottom of the frame rail, but i feel this "inner" piece will add more strength or I should say, the same strength as intended to support the front leaf section.
It will allow for better alighting for the shackle bolt as well and correct distance from the front of the frame, I believe.

thanks for the great pics. i am having trouble making sure that i have the axle in the right place. can you get a measurement from the front shackle bolt center to the front of the front cab mount? i need to go off a fixed point on the frame that wasnt moved in the conversion. ie: front cab mount.

Check out my conversion here:

I swapped a '94 F350 SRW Dana 60 into my '95 F350 2wd using a Reverse Shackle Kit.

i have found that the 87-91 frames are different from the 92-96. they are not boxed in the front like the 92-96. these threads are very helpful. i have thought about the rsk but dont really want to spend the extra money at this time.

All the 2wd frames are open in the front.. it was the 4wd ones that were boxed at the nose, which is why many of us went RSK up front, and used the bracket!
