Dove Tail Removal

I remember a thread that said that you needed to cut the rivets and remove the Dove Tail Assembly from the pillar? You do not need to do that! Just take a small flat bladed screw driver and push the plastic piece back and up. It will then be able to be remove with ease.

Remember to remove the spring also.

There you have it, now clean that area up

You can order new ones or just clean up the old ones and flip them top to bottom!

I still need to clean up that area will do it later, and put some new dove tails in.

Regards, Dale

Yep... you are correct.

MAC's sells a dovetail kit for $6. (Need one kit for each door) Comes with two dovetails and two springs. I just put a set in each door. One was real tight to get in, almost thought it was not going to fit. Had to file a little excess plastic off each one to get them to be repositioned into the door pillar opening.
