hot rod 66 f600?

number dummy thanks for the break down. thats awsome to know about that. i do have a couple options i guess. one, i could swap the front and rear axles to a newer dulley set. or two, i could swap the body onto the dulleys frame. not sure of what year it is as its just a chassis with a 6.9 diesel. or i could slam the body onto the 76 pete frame with a 3406 cat motor...LOL granted i'd be driving from the bed...lol yeah i plan on just driving the truck around for fun. if i need to move anything super heavy, we've got 3 semi's waiting...i highly doubt their is replacement wheels with that massive 6 x 8.75 bolt pattern.
But before doing anything...better make sure there's nothing inside the carb besides what belongs there. Without an aircleaner, who knows what mighta fallen in.
The front end looks like a pickup, but this ain't a pickup. I was amused when someone said remove some spring leafs.
Take a gander at them, they're five times the size of the ones on your High Boy....and weigh considerably more.

it drove to where it is at now, he put it there last summer. now i dont know how far it drove im guessing only a mile or two as it was from the same town. yeah he is bad for pulling air filters off, dont know why. i've had to check the carb many times on the old plow truck this last winter. i looked at the spings yeah i know they are huge. granted they are smaller than on our kw w900a...lol but they are still huge. i mentioned ditching some springs to reduce the ride hight, when you lower most semi fronts you just take out the blocks but not all have blocks. they make kits to put air bags on solid i beam axles so you can ride low but still handle massive weight. i've done a ton of work on the big KW so i was thinking that it wouldnt be too hard to rat rod the f600. the old 330 doesnt really impress me all that much. i've got a 391 laying in the back of one of the shops or i have access to a 390. i just love that fat fender look with the huge wheels under it.

well im sad to say i was under the old girl today and the mounts are pretty shot. i found a lot more rust than im willing to deal with. its not the worst ive seen but im too deep in my currant project to want to mess with it. so if anyone is interested in her, let me know, might be able to make a deal...i really dont want to see her go to the scrapper...just know that the wrecker part is headed to a differant truck.

I have a 1956 F600 that I am hoping to make a crewcab or a truck with a 56 F100 with a long bed.

yeah it could be a money pit...hard to say. im not worried about how much labor may be involved. im doing a full on resto on my 73 highboy, the only part i need to farm out is welding the thin metal. we have 3 large welders on site. i can fab cut and modify just about anything. i didnt know these are those much dreaded split rim. we have 2 large tire machines for mounting semi and car wheels. i'd have to see if my step father is good at these type of rims. he's been doing tire work on large trucks for several years.
Thanks,
Jim Bates
