Angry Bendix Power Steering Boxes--Where to get one?

in my 68 F250. After looking at 2 different rebuild kits for the pwr steering box, I realized that it's a Bendix box and the kits were for Ford. Does ANYBODY know where to go for rebuild kits for Bendix steering boxes? ( 128206 followed by CHG-AH-2 ).

And PULEEZ don't say it's the same as the Ford box kits or I can get it in any parts store. Not true. I'm looking at a $220 steering gear if I can't find it.

SOS!

I think DC's got a rebuild kit.

I opted for the OTC rebuilt unit from O'Reilly @ $280. $220 sounds like a helluva deal.

Dennis Carpenter has a power steering box seal kit for a bendix unit. Part number C6TZ-3E500-A. It's listed for 65 - 67, for $50. Don't know if it would work for a 68 or if the year listing is a misprint. Might be worth a phone call. 704-786-8139.

Well, DUH! Checked my DC cat and yup, they have a seal kit for 65-67. Have to call them tomorrow and see why or if it doesn't fit 68.

Thanks, guys.

Sorry for the confusion Ecartman. Yes the other guys got it, DC is "our" abbreviation for Dennis Carpenter.

Well, I got the $220 gear put in. Swear to God, I think it would be worth it to convert to manual and get rid of all that power crud. Heck, I'm not planning to let any children drive it, anyway. I used to drive a '63 Kenworth 3 axle tractor with manual, so I guess I should be able to handle an F250.

I guess the DC kit wouldn't work?

So how did the installation go? Is the steering better now?

Bendix Power Steering Boxes--Where to get one?

I would like to put a Bendix power steering box in my 67 F100 with manual steering. Only place I can find one is from Oreilly Auto Parts at @$279.99 plus $150. core charge plus shipping. Ouch. Does anyone have one they would sell, or a lead on where I could purchase one? I have a great column, wiring, etc. in the truck now, and don't want to replace column with a shorter one so I am trying for the Bendix unit. Thank you!

I hope this isn't against the posting guidlines. We are talking here about helping a fellow ford person. Are you referring to the control valve that controls the slave cylinder for the power steering setup on f250 , 4x4 trucks up thru the middle of the 77 model year. If so , then , send me a private email. I have a Bendix control valve that you can use as a core or it will probably work on the truck, but it leaks.............fd...........I just reread your post and i don't thimk we're talking about the same Item!!!fd

Bendix Power Steering Boxes--Where to get one?

Thanks, fatdaddy. I think we are talking about different critters. I need a power steering box made by Bendix. I will not have to swap out entire steering column if I can find one. A stock Ford unit requires use of a different, several inches shorter column, wiring changes, etc. Mine is in great shape, correct color, etc. Sure would appreciate it if I could find a Bendix unit that will bolt right in. Thanks, all.
