I'm just ready to get outside without coveralls everyday and get back in the garage in the evenings. Also gonna get a garden started this month if the ground drys enough.

Well, it looks like I have to figure out what's going on with my favorite tiller AGAIN - I'll be turning 2,000 square foot of soil real soon here and the last time I went out to see how it made it through the winter I ripped the pull-start cord right out of it. Like something made a nest in the flywheel!

There's also a rod and gasket set I recently got for my NEW/USED Scott Deere tractor that I need to install - I've just been too lazy and comfortable to get out into the 40 degree chill to mess with them.

I'm also wondering JUST HOW HIGH the Big River is going to go this year, it was just two years back when I got that outrageous picture of my truck in a semi-flooded parking area looking like it was floating on water.

The Farmers Almanac was pretty accurate this year in it's dire predictions of bitter winter conditions, so a whole lot of snow melt is going to pour into all the tributaries up north. I sure am glad I don't live down in the bottoms... They did a lot of building up along the riverbank right near where I am, let's hope it was tax money well spent.

*It must be an awful creepy feeling to have to wear a flotation vest while operating a tractor

March will also find me pricing out machinework for the 351W I've had standing by all this time. If I get the lower end set up, and the bearings ready to hand I'll be quite pleased with myself! Don't know if I'm going to go with the factory heads or not. I'll probably have to for now.

What a day. It snowed for the last two days continuously. Did accumulate to anything. Then this morning there was about 1" on the ground and the roads were the worst I have ever seen it since I lived up here. I haven't seen rods that slick in years. The little bit of snow turned to solid ice when driven on and there were no salt trucks running at all. I bet I passed 20 wrecks before I even got to the interstate. It took me 30 minutes to drive what usually takes me 10 this morning. And get this, when I finally get to the interstate the traffic was running 70 mph. They were laying salt on the interstate...what a concept! SALT !

Anyways, good morning guys, well good afternoon almost.
