Fuel tank selector switch would be better to modify. Just have the circut open on the bottom position.

You would need a relay of some sort, because even the factory Fog lamp switch wasn't robust enough to take the amps.

Fog lamps were installed in more broncos than pickups, so don't skip those by when looking in the yards.

My next response is geared towards you as well as anybody else that may find this thread in a search for wood grain.

Dennis Carpenter has some wood grain stuff. Not sure if it's for CC or not though. They also list reproduction radio bezels, but the picture they show isn't 100% factory appearance. NPD may or may not have some wood grain stuff. My 2007 LMC catalog lists some wood grain horn pads, but they're non/cc, and I don't trust LMC stuff. You could also try some Ford parts houses. I'd check my catalogs for ya, but i'm at school.lol.
As a general note, it's pretty hard to find good condition 80-84 wood grain stuff in the junkyard. As soon as people see it, they take it, even if they don't have a truck to use it in. They'll put it up on Fleabay, so keep your eye out there.
Thanks Fordzilla. Yes my truck is CC equipped. If you or anyone else comes across something I'd appreciate a holler. No luck finding anything around here at the yards.
Everything else like the instrument bezel and the door panel wood grain trim is gonna be found on Fleabay or in the junkyards.

Thanks. I'll let you know for sure, but it looks like I might be getting my hands on one. This place is awesome. I've posted help to find 3 parts (horn pad, dash lens, and radio *****) and I've gotten every one of them from someone on here who read my post. I hope I can do the same thing for somebody who is in need.

That's great!

You just reminded me, I picked up a 1981 Ford **** and Shaft cassette player for my F100 the other day, and it didn't come with ***** so i'm gonna have to find some myself. My DC catalog lists them, but the price section said "coming". I need to check back and see if they have them.

Good luck. Do you need all the *****? I just got a set mailed to me from KirbyMan, but I only need one of the 4 *****, so I got 3 extra I think. If these ***** I have will work for you, you are welcome to them.

dohc_chump is hooking me up with the horn pad. Thanks dohc_chump!

I need an entire set. Three would suffice though. The radio is only gonna serve as a dummy radio since i'm gonna run a modern cd player behind/under the seat.

I'd like to see if anybody else reading this needs them, because the ***** will just sit on my truck and barely get used since the radio is just gonna light up. If nobody else wants them, i'll be glad to take them off your hands.

That's the same radio as the one I picked up. I'm pretty sure it's the top of the line option for 1980-1984.

That little radio sounded pretty good on the factory door speakers when I got the truck. The cassette player eats tapes though.

lol. That's why i'm not even gonna try mine. I'm just gonna tap into the illumination circuit somewhere and make a splice to the radio so it'll still light up. I want to keep the interior as close to factory as possible, but I still want to be able to play my CD's and Ipod.

My 1981 F100 XLT came with a factory AM/FM Stereo radio with a 8 track player. It
still works but I don't have many 8 tracks. Would love to find a good radio the same as
mine with a cassette player.

Those are great little radios aren't they.

I probably know what's wrong with your radio as well. The rubber take up wheel is probably deteriorated. These cassette decks were Japanese built and are designed internally really close to how a VHS VCR works.

Here's mine.

This thing is pretty good:

Not sure if the cassette player works, though, it prolly needs belts.
