Those look similar to our stuff. But what we have doesn't look that nice.

Managed to get the engine/trans installed today:

There is a starter in there somewhere......

Intake and exhaust are finally together!

Next Sunday I'll put the wiring, PS pump, alt back on and reinstall the front clip..........

I don't know. I don't pay attention to who makes the boxes. Most of our radios are made by Harris or General Dynamics.

Won't be too worried about that much longer once my medical separation goes through. What part of oregon you in? And does your company hire vets?

If I remember right you said this engine came out of a forest service rig?

The engine must of been changed out at some point. It had a stock bore and a stock crank with almost no wear, and the cam was unworn also. The engine had the right valve cover for a 71, but had a point dizzy instead of a dura spark.......?

Just saying.........

I believe so. I thought there was a sticker on the valve cover with the specs and adj. specs. It was common in those days for the local office to have thier own mechanic and shop. When the milage reached "X" a long block would have been ordered and installed in house. Not like now, where they have an unlimited amount of our money to *&^%$#$%^ away on new. When you first said that the inside condition was so good I was thrilled. Very happy with the swap on this end. Like I said before friendship is always more important than car parts.
