Just wondering what year automatic trannies will interchange with a 1985 bronco II 4x4 with a 2.8L six? Also if one out of a ranger will swap. Thanks

The a4ld automatic tranny is the only auto tranny used in the BII. Any year! That's the good news. The bad news is they are large POS's. More good news is that they can be built into a decent tranny. It just takes the money. Other things they used that tranny in
Aerostar
Explorer
Mustang (early 90's, 2 wheel drive only)

Hope this helps

Yes, ranger tranny (A4LD) will work as well. What year Ranger? What engine?

CORRECTION: The C-5 also came in the 84-85 (or 85-86) BII. At any rate, both will swap in off the Ranger.
